Hooked On Ponics was started with 2 goals; feeding people, and helping people grow food. We believe anyone can grow food, and having control over where your food comes from is more important now than ever. We offer a unique microgreen solution based on a near-zero waste model, utilizing reusable or compostable materials. Our hard earned personal experiences with hydroponic systems gives us an uncommon perspective regarding equipment and growing methods. We want to get you quality food or get you growing quality food.

Our Story

For us the journey into hydroponics started about 10 years ago with a plastic barrel, some gold fish, and a few lettuce plants. While that system sort of worked, we've piled on the knowledge since then. Our goal with Hooked On Ponics (HOP) is to provide people with quality live food, and comfort in knowing it was grown locally with no contaminates or pesticides. Microgreens are one of the best and most nutrient packed living foods one can eat. Typically these are sold precut in a disposable plastic container. We thought of a different path, a direct-to-consumer program that recycles the growing trays and gives more longevity to the plants. That means if you buy a tray of microgreens, they were seeds 7-10 days ago. Just about as fresh as you can get!

A second goal for HOP is to get people growing their own food so they don't need us anymore! Seems like a strange business goal, but to us it's more important that people provide for themselves and take back control of their food chain. Through years of growing food hydroponically, we have first hand experience with various types of hydroponic systems. We even designed our own that can be disassembled and fits entirely in the dishwasher. The whole thing can be built on a 3D printer and scaled according to application. If you need a custom system for your space, we would be happy to help with that process.
